Dairy goats grazing on hillside pasture

The herd

Meet our goats

We keep a closed herd of about 40 does — Nubian and Alpine breeds chosen for rich milk, hardy constitution, and calm temperament on hillside pasture.

Every goat has a name. We know their personalities, their preferred browsing spots, and which ones will try to sneak an extra scoop of grain. That attention shows up in the milk.

Nubian dairy goats

Nubian

Rich, buttery milk with high butterfat — ideal for cheese and yogurt.

Alpine dairy goats

Alpine

Steady producers with clean, mild milk — great for drinking and fresh chèvre.

How we raise them

  • Rotational grazing across six paddocks — fresh forage every few days.
  • Free-choice minerals and clean well water at every paddock.
  • No routine antibiotics; sick animals are treated individually and milk is withheld.
  • Kids stay with their mothers for at least two weeks before we begin shared milking.
  • Milked by hand in a calm, cleaned parlor — twice daily, every day.
